These past few days I have been informed that I can be a bit of cynical prick from time to time. I tell all you lovely readers this unsurprising bit of information to caution the best of you that I am indeed a cynical prick from time to time, more frequently than people assume.
I was born into a family where the pen was mightier than the sword, if you took your ball point and jabbed wherever it was convenient. Not really, childhood was a free for all, truly, dibs meant nothing if you weren't shielding the item and shooting out murderous looks like a puma defending her cubs.
Now, I do recall saying that talking about my personal life was unfair to you (cause really, what would I talk about other than my books, video games, shows and baking projects?) and I would refrain from doing so; however, I feel the need to indeed say something about it now for the purpose of a way for you to understand my mentality.
My life now and as a child was filled with a variety of experiences, some were uplifting others painfully enlightening. I was given food that was made basically from scratch as soon as I had incisors, and taught to cook everything from enthusiasm - and through trial and error, giving the recipe a cursory glance something delicious would come about. The music I first heard in large quantities was music from the old masters: Mozart, Wagner, Gilbert and Sullivan, which slowly progressed to exploring every genre that I could stomach (jazz, metal and '80s down at the time, it has since exploded to most anything). My family was fanatical about art; if something could have creative thought put into it, it was art..How it should be really.
I was read stories by Jack Vance, Lloyd Biggle (and Jr.), random bit from Socrates, Marx, the Bible, and many more. Some of my favorite books from my childhood include Harry Potter, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Sherlock Holmes, the Betty Crocker Cook Book, and the More with Less Cook Book, The Stinky Cheese Man, the Five Gold Bands, The Hobbit etc.
Needless to say, much of text language, trends set by the "cool" kids, books that were children story classics, and modern music, does not interest me particularly.
I love the things I have discovered, I love who I am, and what I think, what the world wants me to do does not interest me, I will do, and think as I please, regardless of who is offended.
So, In Case of Swallowing one of my lovely rants? Suck it up, Buttercup <3
B.
